Beautiful Vernal

The Vernal Temple was absolutely beautiful. Both Lani and I fell in love with this area. The Temple was converted from the old tabernacle which was almost condemned. It was originally built in 1907, but had not been used for several years when the new stake center was built in the 40s. They gutted it out and built this beautiful temple. The orange flower was on the grounds and the stained glass window was most beautiful. After visiting the grounds of the temple, the temple was closed for It's annual maintenance, we went across the street to the Pioneer Museum ran by the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. It was a really nice museum, and Sister Black even offered Lani a job to work in the family automotive repair business in Vernal. She said the area was growing due to the oil business, and it was hard keeping workers. The museum is in the first tithing house ever built. Vernal was beautiful, and we really enjoyed this day. We then went north to the Flaming Gorge area. This was a very fun day. We will visit Vernal again..

This was a short drive out to the Dinosaur National Monument, but the main visit center was closed due to a cave in, so we didn't go all the way in, but, on the way back we saw this Huge dinosaur about to cross the road. We stopped for it to go across, and thank goodness it didn't see us. The green river was beautiful though.

We went to the Dinosaur Museum in Vernal, and learned how they find the bones and fossils. The Mammoth Lani is standing by is not found in Utah, the the other two were. The big scary guy above was actually living in Utah at one time. Happy I didn't live here then.
