This morning we went to the open house for the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. It is very beautiful inside and out. They imported the granite on the outside from China, and the inside marble floors were imported from Egypt and Morocco. I loved the brush gold stairs banisters, and the beautiful inlaid furniture. We were not allowed to take pictures inside, so the inside pictures are from the Internet, and the outside are the ones I took. The weather was wonderful, and we truly enjoyed our tour. When we were leaving one of the brothers who was ushering stopped to tell us that the cookies we were eating were from a baker in the area, and that since March they have been baking cookies 24 hours a day.

One thing I noticed was how bright the celestial room was. It has this beautiful vaulted ceiling, and a beautiful chandelier shaped like a star. 
Above is the Angel Moroni who is perched on the high steeple of the temple, and has already been hit by lightening. Brother and Sister White, one of the families in our ward, were inside the temple when the lightening hit, and they said they could hear a faint storm, but never heard anything associated with the thunder. The temple is so insulated. If you look close you may see the black left by the lightening.
